Let it be Episode 1: Legacy

LetItBe-Episode1-Legacy-Post

You guys! I am so excited to finally be able to share with you my new collaboration with my most excellent friend Brooke McAlary. This is the very first episode (in a massive launch week of five episodes!) of our new podcast Let it Be.

The very first thing I need to do, because we forgot to do it in any of the episodes we’ve recorded to date, is thank Jodie Gibson for the name. Boy were we struggling to name this podcast. But when Jodie said ‘How about Let it Be?’ we both said ‘Yup, that’s the one!!’. So huge thanks Jodie!

Let it Be is part of the new Jackrabbit.fm network and is myself and Brooke in conversation about … well, life. We’ve both been to some very dark places and managed to come out the other side – Brooke via slow living and me through learning to live A Life Less Frantic. This podcast brings together all the things we’ve learned over the past few years … and is also an opportunity for further reflection and growth. (As Brooke states in our blurb on iTunes, ‘Warning: contains a great deal of earnestness’.)

Today’s episode is about ‘Legacy’: which, for me, is the gift you leave behind for the world when you’re gone. So many of us struggle to know ‘where we are going’ in life. Brooke and I chat about why fast-forwarding (in your mind!) to the end of your life and ‘looking back’ is a highly effective tool for both figuring this out, and leading a more intentional life. We also touch on why ‘legacy’ and ‘purpose’ are two different things.

Not sure how to listen in to these podcasts?

  • If you have an iPhone – the easiest thing to do is open up the Podcasts app (which is on all iPhones) and search for ‘Let it Be’. When it comes up, simply subscribe. Once you’re subscribed, all our episodes will automatically download on to your phone (and we will love you to the moon and back).
  • If you’re on your computer, the direct link to our show in iTunes is here. Once you’ve subscribed in iTunes, it will download our episodes into your iTunes and you can then add them to whichever iDevice you like from there.
  • And if all else fails, you can listen to the show directly via the player below 🙂
